Van Wert County YMCA Financial Assistance Program

It is the policy of the Van Wert County YMCA to provide services to all individuals who need them, regardless of ability to pay, within available resources.  The YMCA has established fees at rates affordable  to the majority of residents in Van Wert County.  Those individuals unable to pay a fee may be awarded partial assistance based on their financial situation and the YMCA’s ability to provide assistance. 


Financial Assistance funds are made possible through the generous contributions to our Sustaining Membership campaign.  Contributions to this fund are collected from local businesses, YMCA members, and friends of the Van Wert County YMCA.  This YMCA program is also sponsored in part by a generous donation from the United Way of Van Wert County.   


  • Assistance will be provided on the basis of need.
  • A sliding scale will be used to determine the amount of assitance the YMCA will provide.  Every individual will be asked to pay a portion of the membership fee.
  • Financial Assistance will be granted on a maximum year basis.  Applicants must re-apply each year on renewal date.   

Application Process

These steps must be followed to be considered for Financial Assitance from the YMCA of Van Wert County. 

  1. Complete entire application.  Available at the YMCA front desk or by dowloading this Financial Assistance Form .
  2. Provide proof of income.  Examples: Most recent pay stub, tax return, bank statement showing deposit.
  3. Turn in completed application and additional forms to the YMCA front desk. 
  4. Upon reviewing your application, you will receive a phone call to notify you of approval.
