YMCA Camp Clay themes help to make your camper’s experience more fresh and fun each week. Theme activities are sprinkled into the schedule throughout the week and they may include craft activities, active games, or we may take a traditional camp activity and put a theme twist on it! Summer Camp Schedule
WEEK 1: Art Week

🎨 Explore the World of Famous Artists
Ever wondered about artists like Van Gogh, Matisse, or O’Keeffe? This week, dive into their world and explore various artistic styles and mediums through a hands-on, immersive experience. Create, paint, and express yourself!
WEEK 2: Magic Week
📅 June 9 – 13
🧙♂️ A Week of Wizardry and Wonder
Step into a world of enchantment! Create your own wizard name and discover your magical specialty. Enjoy crafts, Quidditch, bracelet-making, and spellbinding fun. Imagination is your greatest power!
WEEK 3: STEM Week
📅 June 16 – 20
🔬 Build. Create. Innovate.
Can we build it? Yes, we can! Tackle exciting engineering challenges—catapults, boats, egg drops, popsicle stick bridges, and more. Dive into the big three C’s: Construction, Creativity, and Collaboration.
WEEK 4: Mythology Week
📅 June 23 – 27
⚡ Gods, Heroes, and Legends Await
Travel through time and myth to explore the tales of Norse, Greek, Roman, Hindu, and Egyptian gods and heroes. Design your own mythic character and embark on a legendary adventure.
WEEK 5: Mystery Teen Week (Ages 10–13)

🕵️ Camp Overnight | $150
Who dunnit? Decode clues, crack secret messages, and solve thrilling puzzles in this special short week for older campers. End the experience with a memorable overnight stay!
WEEK 6: Music Week

🎶 Create. Perform. Celebrate.
Whether you love to sing, dance, rap, or beatbox—or prefer the behind-the-scenes magic—this week is all about music. Explore instruments, genres, and rhythms as we make joyful noise together!
WEEK 7: Pirate Week
📅 July 14 – 18
🏴☠️ Adventure on the High Seas
Ahoy, mateys! Build a boat, dress like a pirate, and set sail on a week full of games, acting, and high-seas excitement. Treasure awaits those who dare the adventure!
WEEK 8: Horror Week
📅 July 21 – 25
👻 Spine-Chilling, Hair-Raising Fun
Enter if you dare! From creepy crafts and eerie tales to a camper-designed haunted woods, this week is a spooky celebration of thrills, chills, and sweetly sour challenges (like the Warheads Challenge!).

“Can we eat this?” “What’s that plant for?” Discover nature’s secrets through foraging, survival skills, wildlife ID, and more. Bugs, trees, and fungi—learn how nature benefits us every day.

🏅 Finish the Summer Strong
End the summer with a bang in our Olympic-style week! Join a team and compete in sports, camp games, and puzzles. Exercise your body and mind in a fun, friendly competition!
