SPECIAL EVENTS AT YMCA CAMP CLAY

Special events may be hosted at Camp Clay that are open to the public.  These events may be sponsored by local businesses or camp partners and may include extra activities (in addition to the aqua park) or change the admission cost for the public.  Please see the calendar below for dates, costs, and details!

 

Camp Clay Polar Bear Plunge– Feb. 27.  12p check in and 1p start

YMCA Camp Clay is hosting a Polar Bear Plunge fundraiser event.  All proceeds will benefit the "Send a Kid to Camp Campaign" to help provide financial assistance for youth to attend our summer day camps!  Participants can pay a $50 participation fee OR collect pledges from your friends and family for FREE participation (pledges must equal at least $50 or more).  Register by calling 419-238-0443 and ask for Kevin!

 

Aqua Park Opening Weekend– May 22 and 23 from 12p - 6p

The Aqua Park kickoff on Memorial Day weekend will feature special $3 admission (normally $5) for Saturday and Sunday.

 

Peony Festival Youth Fishing Derby– June 5 from 9a –11a.

A youth fishing derby operated by the Peony Festival Board and hosted at YMCA Camp Clay! 
Participation is free of charge.  Open to youth ages 6 - 16 years old.  Prizes available.  Adults may assist youth with pole set up and maintenance, youth must catch fish unassisted.
  

 

Elks Free Day– June 15 from 12p - 6p

The Elks BPOE #1197 are sponsoring the annual Elks free day at YMCA Camp Clay.  Free admission to all!  Volunteer Members from the Elks Lodge also provide and serve free lunch to all patrons in the park.  This event usually draws large numbers of patrons to the park.  Camp Lifejackets are limited.  Bring your own type III coast guard approved life vest for guaranteed swimming in the Aqua Park all day.  Please be courteous of other swimmers.  If you are not using your camp life vest, we encourage swimmers to return it to the guard shack to be used by others.  

 

Kids Fun Day sponsored by Van Wert Health– Date TBD

Regular $3 admission applies.  Van Wert Health will provide special land activities for youth.
In the past, they have provided a free sunscreen station.  Free shaved ice from C&J’s shaved ice.  Special DJ to play music and inflatable games in the park!  We will announce 2021 activities when they become available!

 

Jennings Creek Council Rendezvous– Sat. May 15 and Sat. Sept. 11 from 9a - 5p 

The Jennings Creek Council invite the general public to check out their Spring and Fall pioneer
rendezvous.  Admission is free of charge.  There will be a variety of demonstrations by enthusiasts in period dress and camp.
